Do you like Cold Brew? Are you buying it all the time? Well, I got to tell you that I stopped buying coffee all together in the coffee shops unless I am meeting a friend.
I do not see a point at all when I can make coffee just the way I like it. Plus, I save a few bucks along the way. I love a strong, dark roast coffee so sometimes I really cannot get that taste especially if I get it in the most popular cafes.
Yes, some of them do surprise me every now and then, but not often. I am very picky when it comes to coffee.
Since my daughter and I only drink coffee in our household, I make one batch for two of us. Of course, she does not drink it every single day, so I consume her serving as well. I love making a smaller amount so that way we always have freshly made brew.
Add coffee in the French Press, then add filtered COLD water. Yes, you can add hot water, however, that is when the coffee starts to bloom and release different flavor, even aroma. So when you pour cold water, you will get the lower acidity and some flavor compounds do not come through via cold brewing, which gives it a smoother taste.
At first add a bit of water, like a splash, then mix to make coffee wet, then add the rest. Stir well again! Place the top on but do not push all the way down.
We need to allow the coffee to brew from 12 to 24 hours in the fridge. This is crucial for your cold
When the time comes to consume it, push the filter down and pour it into your glass, preferably over the ice. You may add sweetener and cream, or perhaps enjoy it just the way it is.
Cold Brew Coffee
- 6 tablespoons Coarse Grind Coffee preferably dark roast
- 16 fl oz Filtered Water
- Cream and sweetener as desired
- Add coffee in the French press, then add a splash of water to wet the coffee.
- Mix the coffee to wet it throughout and pour the rest of the water. Stir again!
- Place the top of the French press on, but do not press it down, just lay it on the top.
- Transfer the French press to the fridge and allow it to cold brew for 12 to 24 hours. The more is in the fridge brewing the taste will be stronger. If you do not prefer stronger coffee than you may drink it after 12 hours.
Usually, I make another batch as soon as I am done with the coffee.
You can use a mason jar to make cold brew. Use nut-bag, cheesecloth or fine strainer as a filter.

Do you like Matcha? I just love Matcha Lattes, cold or hot. I wanted to post this recipe for a long time. I even bought these beige (very Instagram hip) cups for this to take pictures for Matcha Latte… I know what you are thinking, “that’s totally unnecessary”, but I just couldn’t help myself. Sometimes I get stuff just for those purposes. My shelves are filled with unnecessary props, but again, I can’t help myself. It’s my job and I never know what I will need.
So the other day I went shopping with my girl, Anna, who by the way loves Starbucks double chocolate chip frappe. – Nothing to do with this gem, but I just had to include that sentence for some reason. Anyhow, she suggested Starbucks just to cool off and chill for a moment. I rarely get coffee out; I get it either when I am busy and on the road or if I go out with a friend. I just like making my own coffee at home.
I wasn’t craving coffee so naturally, I would get something like matcha frappe or iced latte, which is super easy to make at home, as you can tell. I made a little video with my iPhone how I personally like my Matcha Latte. Since I had this amazingly nutritious Moringa powder I added that as well. I just love it! By the way, this post totally came randomly.

Now I am completing this post with two of my fur babies who just love walking accross my laptop keyboard especialy when I type. I don’t know if you know, but we have two kitties. Luna, a year old tabby, and Nala, 4-month-old Chantilly Tiffany.
I just love them to pieces… all of us loved them but they only listen to me. Well, I feed them and clean their poop after-all hahaha Jokes on the side, I guess I am here all the time so I have the privilege to do all that for my queens.
So to cut the story short, I hope you guys make this delicious iced latte. It is one my favorites cold or warm, during summer or winter. Just by replacing cold milk you can totally add warm milk and make a nice hot beverage during those cold winter days.

Almond Milk Matcha-Moringa Iced Latte
- 2 cups Almond Milk
- 1/2 Vanilla Non-Dairy Coffee Creamer
- 1 tablespoon Vanilla Extract
- 1 teaspoon Matcha Powder
- 1 teaspoon Moringa Powder
- Sweetener to taste Stevia
- Ice Cubes
- Place everything in the blender except for ice cubes and blend until well combined.
- Pour the Latte over ice and enjoy.
- You can use only matcha if you wish. Increase to 2 teaspoons of Matcha powder if you are only using one kind of powder.
- You may use dairy creamer and or dairy milk, soy milk or cashew milk, etc. Whatever you have in your fridge.

Do you like pure fruit smoothies or you always hide veggies in? Well, I do it both ways. Most of the time I’d hide powerful greens in there.
However, sometimes I just need to kill that sweet tooth craving when is barking at me, so what’s the best way to intake some of the sugars than unprocessed, healthy fruit.
It is certainly better for you than cookies or any other sweet junk food, so one cup of this kills my sweet tooth craving and to be honest I don’t feel guilty afterward.
It’s sweet, of course, but at the same time refreshing and delightful to drink in the morning or as your afternoon sweet treat, to kind of pick you up.

Strawberry, Blackberry Banana & Pineapple Smoothie
- 1 banana
- 1 cup Strawberry
- 1 cup Blackberry
- 1 cup pineapple
- 1/2 cup Pure Pineapple Juice
- 2/3 cup water
- 1 cup ice cubes
- 1 tablespoon seeds chia, hemp, etc.
- Place everything in your blender, and add liquid, ice cubes and seeds of your choice.
- Blend for about a minute, and enjoy!
