Without further adieu I present you Muna from Munaty Cooking

Hi everyone! I'm Muna, I live in the Middle East, in the Gulf area, in a beautiful country called United Arab Emirates, and it's a real pleasure to be here. Knowing that one of my recipes is now included among many delicious ones made by Sandra is thrilling. I'm a big fan of Sandra and her cooking, she is an amazing person who is down to earth. I've learnt few dishes from her blog, I don't know how she does it but as simple as her recipes may look, they are full of flavor. I've celebrated MunatyCooking's first Anniversary on Feb 5th, 2012, that makes me a proud mummy of a one-year-old baby blog.
Whenever I come across a new recipe, I'm off to the market buying the ingredients to try it out. My journey have introduced me to variety of recipes and it's mind blowing how every country have countless mouth watering dishes.
Today I'm sharing Sweet Milk Buns. In my house kids go gaga when these buns are baked. They can be plain, or filled with cheese, jam, it’s really up to you, but if you are baking them for the first time, I suggest you keep them plain, since only then you can decide which of your favorite fillings can go with it.
They are not too sweet, so you can use them as burger buns too.
This recipe will make 4 medium size buns.
Let’s get baking!
  • 1 cup all purpose flour
  • 4 tablespoons milk powder
  • 2 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup warm water (May need more)
For brushing the buns:
  • 1 beaten egg
To sprinkle on top of buns:
  • 2 tablespoons sesame seeds
Homemade and Delicious Sweet Milk Buns any time of the day

- In a bowl, mix all the dry ingredients.
- Gradually add the warm water to previous mixture and knead.
- In the beginning the dough will be sticky, but as you keep kneading, you'll notice that the dough is getting firmer and won't stick.
- Knead for 5 – 7 minutes, then cover and let it rise in warm place for an hour or until double in size.
- Punch the dough and knead it for 1 minute.
- Lightly dust your baking sheet with flour.
- Form 4 equal balls from the dough and place on baking sheet, cover with wet cloth and let rise again for 30 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 374F/190C.
- After the 30 minutes, brush the buns with egg and sprinkle sesame seeds.
- Bake for 20 – 25 minutes or until golden brown.

I don't know about all of you, but those buns making me hungry! Don't you just love her photos?
