Summer Inspiration: Marinated and Grilled Shrimps

I got inspired by Summer, to be more specific 'end of Summer' which will be over soon..I am not sad because winter will come, and cold days, but more because we have to wait almost whole year until we can grill again...well some of us. While preparing this, I got even more into the whole presentation...You know the photo prep, and what else could be appealing for our eyes, what would be great colors, what refreshment we can serve..So warm violet, yellow-orange, green...all those colors bring some kind of peacefulness, happiness, enjoyment and love to my heart, and I hope yours as well.
Ok I can talk like forever, to cut the story short..I made Lime, Garlic and Olive oil Marinade, Grilled Shrimps on skewers infused by sourly, salty and aromatic marinade. Also for refreshment..who need unhealthy sodas? Nobody!
Idea was to refresh you, hydrate and replenish your body during hot summer day.
Since I had those long bamboo skewers, I cut randomly few limes, and few lemons, and in pattern put them on. Place in the freezer 30 minutes before serving your meal. This will cool your water as well give incredible flavor, also you can add few more ice-cubes. I went extra mile and decorated those skewers with mini silver cupcake paper(cups) and ribbons.

Ingredients:
For marinade:

  • Juice of 2 limes,
  • 1/2 cup of good Olive oil
  • Parsley
  • 4 cloves of Garlic
  • Pinch of Sea Salt and Black Pepper
  • Dry Herbs - I used mixed Italian herbs

Directions:

  1. Stir everything very well, and pour in the large plastic container.
  2. Put shrimps in the marinade, and cover the plastic container.
  3. Place it in the refrigerator until ready for grilling/also it can be marinading overnight

When ready for grilling take them out of the marinade and put the shrimps on the bamboo skewers. Please note that skewers can easily burn so the best way to prevent it by soaking in a bit of water for 10 minutes before putting anything on them.
Also if you like to dip your shrimp, and bit more tangy  than save on the side 1/2 cup for dipping. You don't need much because lime and olive oil with all the herbs and garlic leaving you with  very aromatic and citrusy flavor and smell.

I hope you all having lovely August so far....

Sending you bear hugs!!!

  13. Hi Sandra! Your photos are - as always - incredible! I hate to see the end of summer. I enjoy the fall and the holidays, but hate that I'm allergic to cinnamon and don't get to indulge as much! Plus, I'm strictly a shorts & flip-flops kind of gal....

....but that being said, I know you're going to have amazing fall recipes and I can't wait!

Shrimp is stunning, by the way! I hope you are well!
